The American Red Cross Centennial Campaign in Greater Chicago

The Chubb senior vice president of flood insurance for North America, Louis Hobson works in Chicago, Illinois. Louis Hobson also sits on the board of directors of the Greater Chicago Chapter and Illinois regional headquarters of the American Red Cross.

Among its wide range of community initiatives, the American Red Cross Centennial Campaign has been teaching swimming and water safety skills to people of all ages for more than a century. The Centennial Campaign’s activities in Illinois are restricted to the greater Chicago area.

Since January 2016, the Centennial Campaign has partnered with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Chicago to offer low-cost swimming lessons taught by certified Red Cross water safety instructors. These lessons are open to children and adults at the indoor pools of three Chicago-area Boys & Girls Clubs facilities. Qualified participants can secure scholarships for Red Cross junior lifeguard courses, and guardians of participants can engage in water safety and CPR training free of charge.
